ALMOST 3 F*CKING DAYS OF COLOR INKING OMG NEVER AGAIN, NOW I KNOW WHY NEWSPAPERS STICK WITH BLACK AND WHITE!!!

Anyway first comic strip of my new series, which I will probably get published in the newspaper. This ones going into my online portfolio for clients. There is some shadow shading in some but not all panels in the right spots due to how aggravated I was getting from the coloring process.

Monster Sketch Ink Practice. (4/9/2011) 7:20 PM

Did a sketch of this creature after several sketching practice sessions with my new manikin. I kind of liked how it turned out so I inked it with my brand new sharpie ink pen and did some hatching/cross hatching for texture as practice for comic book inking for the newspaper. Meh hope you like it, I lazily did foreshortening and wicked claws to give it a sense of motion/movement.

(Lighting is wrong in the second panel on his outfit, couldn't do anything to fix it since I was stupid enough to shade on the same layer as the lineart.)

Tip: One point perspective only one face of the object will be seen, only one side of an object will be able to be viewed.

A night in my neighborhood. (3/27/2011)

Nighttime scene of my neighborhood last night. Was too cold so I only took a glance of the neighborhood for 5-10 seconds then went inside and did it by memory. Just finished shading it today, sent to my college representative :) I am dedicating this picture to my friend Laura, who if it wasn't for her I would still have a very loose understanding of perspective. She is my mentor and Art teacher, Thank you love! ♥ ^_^


Oh, and the sketch paper is bigger than my scanner, hence the weird edges (couldn't fit all of it on there!) tried my best to get the best parts of it. :)

Super Hero sketch anatomy practice. 3/20/2011 11:02 PM

Was watching a college course class on figure drawing, and the figure/shape he made, brought a super hero to mind. SO I quickly copied his techniques and tried to make an anatomically correct sketch. Though HIS right arm is a bit small, I am pretty satisfied with the results since I learned a new type of technique to make the torso, spine, and hips.

Had to darken it during scan so you could see better details. Inked with my gel pin.

I shouldn't have to put copyrights since it's clear who made this and who owns it.

Some of sketches and practice I did tonight, I am a bit happy with the bottom one but during inking some of the fingers...got enlarged. The top one was me messing around with one of my characters designs, and I was having a hard time trying to fix the "crossing arms" pose since I had so many light sketch marks for the picture it started becoming confusing.

So I created this new blog to house all the crap I will be uploading to it, since I have recently taken an interest in art/cartooning once again. This blog will mainly be an art dump where I will post random images showing what I have learned or what I am trying to do.
